V/LINE – PLATFORM SHELTERS

SUMMARY

Brunton Engineering & Construction was selected via public tender for the design, supply and installation of platform shelters at Bacchus Marsh, Donnybrook, Lara, Marshall, Melton, Riddells Creek and Wallan in 2015.

SUMMARY

After completion, V/Line procured Brunton Engineering & Construction’s shelter layout for use as the Victorian rail network’s standard design.

This six-month project involved:

  • Making site assessments of appropriate shelter locations in consultation with local stakeholders, in addition to applicable standards and regulations
  • Design and certification of 12 various-sized platform shelters, material requirements and colour schemes across the seven locations
  • In-house fabrication of shelters, with extensive pre-assembly allowing quick and convenient onsite installation
  • Onsite construction under track safe-working and stakeholder permit-to-work requirements
  • Installation of shelters across regular time, train occupations and nightworks under track safe-working
  • Connection of vandal-proof Pierlite LED internal lighting linked to station electrical systems
