Specific precast elements are built to strict tolerance requirements before being sent to Swinburne University’s specialist Smart Structures Laboratory. The results of the impact tests conducted have subsequently been used in state-of-the-art research into impact-based structural design, including barriers to withstand events such as rockfall and vehicular collision.

Project highlights included:

  • Construction of pre-cast elements to strict tolerances
  • Provision of strict quality assurance regarding concrete and steel materials (grade and dimensions)
